Gabriele Lucherini (born 1 August 1990) is an Italian-born pianist based in Basel, whose artistic profile combines historically informed performance, improvisation, and chamber music. He is currently pursuing advanced studies in piano improvisation in Stuttgart. He completed his musical training at the Conservatory “Arrigo Pedrollo” of Vicenza, where he obtained both his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees with highest honors, before continuing his studies in Basel. He earned a Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy at the Basel Music Academy and later specialized in fortepiano at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where he completed a Master’s degree in Specialized Performance followed by a postgraduate program under the guidance of Edoardo Torbianelli. Active as a soloist and chamber musician since 2009, he has performed regularly in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, France, and Brazil. His musical activity reflects a strong interest in historical performance practice and improvisation, alongside an openness to contemporary and jazz-influenced contexts. In 2017, he participated in a CD recording for the label Neos München, featuring contemporary works for violin and piano by Andreas Pflüger. Since 2018, he has been teaching piano at the Music Schools of Frick and Magden. Since August 2025 he is teaching at the «Alte Kanti» high school in Aarau. In 2023 he received a scholarship as an active participant in the International Workshop on Historical Piano Improvisation in Perugia and in 2013, he won the 17th Festival of the Best Italian Graduates in Castrocaro.
